Dwellings Seattle Landlord Impact Group

We are an independent group of rental property owners whose properties were managed by Dwellings Seattle, Inc., a real estate firm in Seattle, Washington.

Beginning in 2026, owners in our group report that rent collected from their tenants was not distributed to them as required by their property management agreements, and that the company became unresponsive to inquiries and written demands. The company has since ceased operating: most of its website is down and its staff have departed.

Members of our group have filed complaints with the Washington State Department of Licensing, the Washington State Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division, and the Seattle Police Department, and are pursuing civil remedies.

Current status

As of October 2026, more than 100 property owners have documented their losses with the group, totaling more than $1.3 million in unremitted rent, owner reserves and tenant security deposits. Dwellings managed roughly 130 properties, so many affected owners have likely not yet realized.
Dwellings Seattle, Inc. is no longer operating.
The Washington Department of Licensing has completed its investigation of the firm and referred it to its Regulatory Compliance Unit for possible administrative action, and Seattle Police have opened a criminal investigation into the company with an assigned detective.
Owners are pursuing individual civil claims — a first batch of lawsuits has been served — and cooperating with the criminal investigation.
